Living for God

I haven't blogged in awhile, I usually write something when the spirit leads me to do so. I love blogging and talking about God with whoever listens. I plan to live the rest of my life teaching and preaching his word. His love for us is indescribable how can we not show it to others.

Now on to the topic..Living for God..What I've learned on my journey.
I was raised in a Baptist church I remember so clearly getting ready for Sunday School with my Great-Grandmother,singing in the choir, reciting my bible verses and books of the Bible. BTU service was a MUST every Wednesday night...I knew nothing else but church and God. My teen years was not so much leaning on God but making my own plans (I blogged about my story) As I got older and settled myself down I went back to him full force and faithfully and NEVER looked back. Living for God is not always a easy journey especially the way the world we live in now is going. Social media makes you compare yourself to others wishing you had there life, setting yourself up with goals to have a relationship like whats seen in pictures. "Let everyone be sure to do his very best, for then he will have the personal satisfaction of work done well and won’t need to compare himself with someone else." Galatians 6:4. We neglect time with him because other things are more important. When we start living for God we DIE to our old ways, you die to you old ways of thinking, they crowd you hang around, a new YOU is born. Now I'm not saying you have to completely change and dismiss everyone in your life, but what I am saying is a new you should be more Christ like. You should be studying his word, getting involved in your church, speaking about God,telling your testimony(We all have one). There should be no more club on Saturday and making a joyful noise on Sunday..no mam...Don't straddle the fence. "And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15

Freedom in living for God
I want to glorify God in everything I do, running errands, staying at home by myself or speaking to others. I want my life to be all about God and focused on Him.  I’m secure in who I am in Christ and not threatened by others who can do things I can’t do. And I don’t have to know everything and have all the answers to be okay.
I’m also free to have limits and say no when I need to say no because it’s not about pleasing people but being obedient to God. And serving God makes me a better servant of others. I can really love people when I’m not thinking about myself or wondering about what they’re thinking about me.

You don’t have to be like everybody else or do things like everybody else. God created you to be a unique individual and He wants you to be free to be who He made you to be.

Are you really living to please God?
1. What are you living for?
Those who are living for God want what he wants
2.  Ask yourself,Is my passion in sync with God?
God want everyone to come to him and be saved
 3. Does your prayer life express God's kingdom?
There is nothing more important than praying God's will be done.
Luke 11:1

Now sit back and ask are you really living for God or something else?

God is faithful
Love,
Lela B.
